Space for Smarter Government Programme
The Space for Smarter Government Programme (SSGP) is led by UK Space Agency and is focused on supporting UK Government bodies interested in harnessing Earth Observation (EO) technology to save money, time and enable new services.
Sterling Geo is undertaking the SSGP 1:100 project, a project that aims to identify at least one app powered by EO data for 100 government bodies that delivers value through enhanced capability or cost savings on existing commitments.
Delivery is through the revolutionary Hexagon Smart M.Apps cloud based platform which enables an end-to-end geospatial analytics solution. It has been built to enable the user to make business decisions whilst utilising geospatial information through an entirely dynamic process.
Example Smart M.App pilots already being developed include:
- Moorland burn inspection
- Green space change analysis
- Urban change detection
- Illegal build analysis
- Flood modelling
- Tree preservation monitoring
- Protected landscape monitoring
There are many other possible "apps" that Earth Observation data can support and Sterling Geo is keen to work with national and local government organisations who believe they can gain value through the 1:100 initiative. For more information on how to get involved see the case study below.
